EL Alexander/Art Meets

Alex Brunson is an accomplished musician, artist, and creative who is deeply passionate about promoting Black culture, art, music and collective wellness. With a background in music and the arts, Alex has a unique insight into the importance of creating inclusive and safe spaces for artists to showcase their work, collaborate and find inspiration. His commitment to inspiring BIPOC communities inspired him to open "Art Meets," an art gallery located in Union, NJ that has quickly become a vibrant hub for Black creativity.

At "Art Meets," Alex’s vision of creating a safe space for collaboration and collective wellness has been realized. This beloved gallery stands as both a physical space where local BIPOC communities can come together to share experiences, have meaningful conversations and promote social justice, as well as an incubator for emerging Black creatives. Those who visit this gallery will be able to explore diverse works of art from numerous artists and engage with events such as workshops, panel discussions, live performances and more. Additionally, the gallery offers affordable services such as mentorship programs for upcoming creatives from all walks of life which give them access to essential resources in order to further their creative projects or businesses. In addition to its focus on promoting collective wellness and social justice initiatives, “Art Meets” also provides an opportunity for artists from different disciplines such as visual arts, performance arts, film/video production to network and collaborate with each other.

Alex’s passion for empowering the Black community is evident in everything he does – through his visionary leadership at “Art Meets” he has become an inspiring role model in his community. He is dedicated to uplifting local creatives and providing them with resources they need so that they can truly flourish in their artistic endeavors. His unwavering commitment has enabled him to create spaces where people feel welcome and accepted regardless of their backgrounds.
